I've been somewhat obsessed with Pink Floyd lately, and one of my current favorites is the song "Dogs". I don't seem to have a good rant in me at the moment, but I sort of felt like one part of "Dogs" did a pretty damn good job summing up how I feel regarding levity, grudges and holding onto damage.

As for you, though, what have you sown? The song's about being a bastard -- a dog -- and getting what's coming to you. Who's Maynard? This isn't about holding a grudge bastardry, this is about cruel manipulating backstabbing bastardry. This is sociopathic.
Hell, it was originally called "You've gotta be crazy" after the first line in the song, and changed to "Dogs" for the "Animals" album.

As for Dogs, I always thought that song was nicely about enron execs... the firm handshake and all. The imagery called to mind businessmen and politicians.
But applying songs to our lives in piecemeal is an old and honored tradition. Hearing the relevant parts in a way that is personally meaningful.
