I'm being very prolific lately. I guess I've been feeling rather introspective. My hellish day of work is finally over. Basically, I talk for a living and doing so with no voice sucked. I've almost got V's room back together. Despite the "easter egg" colors, it looks pretty fantastic. I'm very excited about my next household project. Our upstairs bathroom is unbearable. It is turquoise and it smells bad. We are going to flat out replace the toilet, which should help both the smell and our water bill. The tub, however.... ( Read more... ) -

A school lunch costs $2. If you forget to send your child with money, you get a credit slip demanding you pay $2. V does not eat school lunch, though. So, when I first got the credit slip in her backpack, I thought it was odd. V confirmed, she had not purchased a school lunch. I have accepted that I am going to stick it out in my current role for now. I'm evening feeling re-energized. After two years, I'm only barely passingly okay at my job. I've almost got a working network of community contacts. I definitely have a loyal fan base. I want to survive five years in public service. That should permanently destroy ( Read more... ) -

Fred Phelps is coming to SUNY to protest... this means that Fred Phelps will be protesting across the street from my home.... given my proximity to the SUNY campus. I'm debating on whether to shelter my kids or expose them to the bigoted side of America lest they not realize we are as hated minority. -

Sleep-A-Thon in the Park on March 6, 2009
I am seeking pledges for spending the night in the park to benefit the local homeless. CPS took a pass and their report just repeated the allegations on both sides. A's mom hired a VERY homophobic attorney and did I mention the judge is an out lesbian. Things went well..... not 100% best case scenario, but very strong beginning to litigation. -

V's therapist complemented me on how well Leyloken and I are able to communicate and focus on V.
