Spike being Spike, couldn't help but be snarky at the end. He knew how Angel was a sore spot for Riley. Wonder how Angel would take what Riley did to Spike. Angel might be up for some torture himself over this.

oh *shudder* - a popular scene to expand on for fanfic, and it should be! OMG that plastic stake! Yeah, seriously! They kind of brush it off on the show but it can't have been any less than awful to have it shoved in his chest! You describe everything very viscerally!

Great characterizations. I especially love the chilling lack of motion from Riley at the end - it's good from a characterization standpoint, because I can see Riley just being flumuxed by his own actions, and it drives home just how helpless Spike is - he can't kick the bastard out of his home!

Yay! Thanks so much! I definitely agree - I think Riley is the kind to blow up and then be shocked at his own behaviour afterwards. And yeah, poor Spike. I actually think in some ways it's worse than the rape itself - he can't have privacy to deal, he can't feel the slightest bit safe. *is mean*
