On the one hand, I love your Spike/Dawn interaction. And I like that Dawn doesn't brush away how badly Spike wronged Buffy.
On the other hand, I don't understand why Spike is considered a worse person/character/friend than Xander or Willow or even Giles. Xander tries to rape Buffy in the hyena!possession episode. Willow does rape Tara (and on several occasions and in multiple fashions with that forgetting spell!). And, arguably, Willow's many successful/unsuccessful attempts at forcing others to behave/forget things as she pleases are also rapes. (After all, rape is usually a crime of power - and Willow so often seemed to want power over others that she simply shouldn't have had.) Giles feeds people to a bodiless demon as part of his rebel without sanity phase ( ... )

Well, he isn't from my perspective. Xander and Giles are less clear-cut but I certainly consider Willow's rape of Tara to be worse than Spike's attempted rape of Buffy - she had a soul, she never seems remorseful, and of course she actually did it. I don't know it's fair to say Giles fed people to the demon - as far as I remember it was the other people in their little dark-magic club who died, and they knew the risks.
But - while this is interesting to talk about - it's in a sense irrelevant to the drabbles, because the second one is Dawn's pov not fandom's. She doesn't forgive Spike for trying to rape Buffy in canon, and I like that she doesn't. She trusted him and he attacked her sister - she's got no reason to forgive, even if she finds that painful. (And she was also the most wary about Willow coming back; Dawn takes no shit! ♥)
