Trains were crap for me today too but can't complain, I was only an hour delayed, got home eventually.

I'm not sure what I can say that is helpful...sometimes you've just got to keep going even if you don't seem to be going anywhere. I hope in the next week some good things happen for you.

Trains were crap for everyone today, it's made the news. National Rail suck.

Indeed they do. But there was a nice team manager on the Virgin train I was on...since I had a seat reservation but a.) No-one would actually move from reserved seats to let the people who'd actually reserved them sit down b.) The reservations system was down anyway and c.) My shoulder was about to break off with carrying heavy things... d.) Train was late, therefore making me late for my conn.
...she upgraded me to the -empty- (>_> Let's do some logic people..) First Class carriage. Peacefulness and free food/drink if I wanted it.

So even if they do suck, at least I have one nice thing to say about one of their employees...
Travelled on the 30th too, absolute hell =/

Virgin are Virgin, Network Rail are Network Rail. Two different companies, totally unrelated. Network Rail are supposed to look after the tracks themselves - and they do a very poor job, it seems.

Still, that's pretty cushy...

30th was OK for me, so maybe it was just that area.

Yesterday I ended up catching a train that was so delayed that it arrived 5 minutes before my original train (Which was already 30 minutes delayed) was supposed to... so it worked out okay for me as I got back 5 minutes early ^__^;;

I disagree, with as shitty a journey as that surely things can only get better!!
