Four weeks today, I'll be heading north to West Yorkshire for this year's UK PonyCon. It'll be my third UKPC and fifth MLP convention overall, which doesn't make me any kind of veteran compared with some (at least four people have been to all thirteen UKPCs!) but is still rather weird for me to think about. The Royal Armouries Museum sounds like a cool venue, though! And that is a great theme.

well, I imagine we'll be in Royal Armouries Hall, the conference venue thing attached to the museum proper. Agreed, though, it's a really good match for the theme. =:)

Do see what fursuiting/cosplay photos you can get! Maybe it'd even be worth renting/borrowing a lens, like a 30mm f/1.4, for great results in next to no light, plus lovely shallow DoF.

Leeds is expensive? O.o

Compared with Leicester, most definitely. Hotels seem about 20% more expensive like-for-like. (Already booked, so that's not a problem now.) And being much further from home, the trains to and from are about twice as much.

Renting a lens? Heh, my definition of "on a tight budget" is having to live on Tesco sandwiches for half the time I'm up there. Anything that costs more than a tenner is firmly in luxury territory!
