Four weeks to go!

Four weeks today, I'll be heading north to West Yorkshire for this year's UK PonyCon. It'll be my third UKPC and fifth MLP convention overall, which doesn't make me any kind of veteran compared with some (at least four people have been to all thirteen UKPCs!) but is still rather weird for me to think about. Given that it sold out in July, I'm hoping for a lot of enthusiasm from my fellow attendees this year -- not that we didn't get it last year!

This year's theme is "Heroes and Villains", which isn't exactly limiting in an MLP context. The cosplayers out there (no, not me) are having a field day with it, and the con is having to expand to two cosplay parades to fit everyone in. The little group I'm expecting to hang around with looks like spending a lot of time "singing" (quotes necessary), which is fine by me as it's something I love, despite being absolutely terrible.

I probably won't be buying as much stuff this year as last. One of the few unwelcome surprises about this year's venue (the Royal Armouries Museum, Leeds) is that Leeds is a horribly expensive city by northern English standards. It's a noticeable step up from Leicester, where we were in 2015. Still, if I'm going to overextend a little, then this isn't a bad place to do it.

But still... four weeks to go. =:o
