According to Autosport, the doctor who operated on his hand has said that he expects "one year" to be when Kubica might be back racing. The commercials aren't as uniformly wonderful as you're led to believe. They're usually viewable on You Tube within a few hours of the game, and I think Fox is going to be putting a collection of them up on a website this year too.

The Superbowl is generally a nonstandard example of American football anyway. The referees are in terror of allowing an uncalled foul, so they generally err on the side of over control. The coachs, for their part, don't want to go down in history as the guy who lost the Superbowl by pursuing a weird strategy, so the play on the field tends to be quite cautious as well. It can be a good game,, but it's seldom a normal game.

And now it's half-time, and what a godawful band :P

I'm not a sports watcher, so I have cartoon reruns on here. Though I am checking the score online since I can't talk to anyone in Wisconsin without being aware of how the game went.

I think the era of interesting Superbowl ads is over. CG and other ad creation methods are relatively cheap now. Years ago they spent more to create the ads, but now the money only buys more CG in ads that already use the tricks. The only trick left would be to throw more money at an overpriced celebrity to be in it.

The trick groups use to get noticed now is to make an offensive ad. When the tv network refuses to air it it makes the news circuit. Often the groups in question don't even have the money to buy the airtime, and are counting on the rejection and news coverage.

Oh, and I can't see the ads here either. CTV just has their mundane regular ads spliced in.
