Enjoying the back story - and can't wait for them to return to Xavier's.

>> Well, they worked on mutants with physical mutations but if the collar was removed the mutant was likely to die in the process of instantaneously ‘re-manifesting’.<<

I've used suppression jewelry and drugs in my stories - and had ways in which their gifts could be reactived when necessary, but I've never considered the possibility of them dying as a result of 're-manifesting'. So that's a really interesting concept.

I got the idea from the opening of X3 when Warren as a young child is clipping his newly grown wings. I got the impression that the wings would grow as he did. Therefore by extension the supression collar would cause physical mutations - like Warren's wings, Kurt's tale and skin etc to no longer be there and if the device was removed those physical mutations would return just as quickly as any other mutant's would. I was thinking the trama to the body would (or could) just be too much. Can you imagine the pain Hank might go through?

Hank's transformation (in the comics and the film) happened extremely fast - and yes, he experienced a lot of pain. In X3 his hand returned to normal when he got close to Leech and then became blue & furry again as soon as he stepped out of Leech's radius - but it didn't appear to hurt. But I'm not surprised that the X3 writers didn't take the pain of the back and forth transformation into consideration. See, you thought of something the professionals didn't. Of course, I think quite a few of us have less plot holes in our fan fics than the actual films. :)
