Poor Basti. This is quite a blow for Bayern.
As for the friendlies, I guess it'll give Jogi more space to experiment.
Get well soon!

Ah, too bad, you never want to see anyone injured but the timing ain't too bad.
Bayern are through in the CL, Germany are qualified for the Euros and a broken collar-bone is not really the worst injury one could have.

As bad as those pics of him in pain are, I've been deeply grateful it's an upper body injury & nothing to do with his legs. Whew!

Well, people who don't support Bayern are probably not particularly unhappy that Basti is out for the rest of the calendar year....

I hate seeing those pictures. It's so horrible seeing him in pain. I avoided tumblr as long as I could to avoid them and now, I just can't cry anymore. I'm more upset over the fact that it happened and that clearly he's in pain. Yeah, it's a shame that he won't be in these next matches, but they're games. I'm happy to hear that these next NT matches are friendlies. Even before this I was a bit worried about what they'd mean for the Euro 2012. I still can't wait to see them play, even if Basti's not going to be on the pitch. I'm just praying for his speedy recovery and that he's not going to be in any pain.

The pictures of him in pain are far worse than this one, which got to me when I first discovered it a few days ago:

Exactly. I know they're safe for Euro 2012, I know Bayern's safe for the knockout round of the CL, and I know a collarbone injury -while painful - is not the worst thing for a footballer to sustain. But dammit, I hate it when they're in pain.

*Sigh* I wish I could be emotionally distant from this kind of thing, but it's hard.

Still being new to football (well, at least being THIS engaged in it) my brain just didn't comprehend that it's not absolutely terrible and my poor friend was working overtime to calm my fears. Me too. I hate seeing people in pain in general. When someone is in tears, I just am drawn to them and want to comfort them to make them feel better. I've always been like that and so watching this, I mean, it's not a movie where it cuts to a month later and things are fine. This is real life. These are real people. I've been harassed before for caring too much about football and so that's why I was battling whether or not to stick out the game or not ( ... )

As "un-fond" as I am of Bayern Munich, I'm sorry for Basti. It was pretty agonizing to watch on TV, I virtually heard the crack...

I wish him all the best (though I feel a bit selfish for thinking "yay, he won't be playing against Werder Bremen on December 3!!!")

you could see, that Munich didn't play that well after Basti got off
so yeah, I'm also glad about him don't playing against Werder ;-)

That long? Omg. Well, that sure opens the door for Schalke, Dortmund, et. al.!
