Hello all,

feeling guilty for being inactive for so long. i've been missing out on so much in the footballing world! 
just been extremely busy (or lazy!) i guess.

anyways, i stumbled across this picture one day when i was aimlessly wasting time on google images:

Goodness Metze, haven't heard from him in ages. To be frank, I missed him in 2006 (which I think he was at his best?) so I only really got to see him in Euro 2008. He was good when he was good, but I think moving to Real Madrid wasn't very good to/for him. He didn't get much playing time, and ended up getting injured. I liked him more than Mertesacker though, felt he was more of a physical defender. Mats has filled his role pretty well now.

Metze was such a classy guy (albeit the baby daddy issues). I'll miss that aspect of him. His English was so good too! With a hint of a German-Spanish accent haha
