Well, I have to admit that I'm quite curious about what went on between them but apparentely, it wasn't pretty.

:(

i can see why he declined though and i'm behind him 100%. i'm sad that this is it and his national career has ended on such a bad note but what he contributed to the NT will never be forgotten.

I was just listening to an interview with Boris Büchler and apparentely he knew that he was out of the team but didn't want to say anything.

how is it odd? the game wasn't being held in his honour.
he's been a huge part of the team for more than 10 years and he's one of the best midfielders this team has had. personally i think the whole situation was handled terribly and he deserved much more respect than what he was given. he was the person who got a lot of people interested in the german NT so really, asking everyone to "move on" is ridiculous, have any of your favourite players retired on such a bad note? if they have, then you'd understand why this is a big deal to people.

I know that technically I owe this to my fans, but I can’t take this offer.

If he thinks he owes it to his fans, then he really should just play. I know it must feel more like a pittance than an honor to him given the circumstances, but he'd really make so many people happy just by playing five minutes in one more game. :\

Oh God, here comes the drama. I had a feeling that this was going to happen, sadly I was proven right.=( Hopefully it´s not going to be as bad as it was when Frings was forced to retire(Not that that wasn´t the right decision, at least in my opinion, but the way it was done, was just awful). Where is that Drama- Lama gif, when you need it.

Why, Jogi, why can´t you handle situations like that in a better way. I don´t know what I will do, if you will ever do something like that to Miro. I can´t describe how devastated I would be.

just by playing 5 minutes? that would be a slap in the face. completely rude and disrespectful.

Ideally, it'd be the whole game, or just short of it for sake of an ovation.

Nah Jogi just can't handle alpha males, like frings or ballack. Miro is not an alpha male, he'll bow out graciously and they will come together every year to reminisce in good memories and drink a bottle of wine.

Maybe your right. But I just don´t know, what to think about this whole situation. In my opinion there are always to sides of a coin. Ballack and Frings both can be quite dominant at times and certainly do have big egos, I just don´t know. Grrgh=(
