After almost three years slogging through a system that at times has seemed almost designed to thwart them at every turn, my sister and brother-in-law finally made it to their final adoption hearing this morning, which lasted all of ten minutes. My dining table has become my desk - the round edge isn't ideal, but it will do. I've just spent the week wading through DSE assessment after DSE assessment, trying to find ways to help people maximise the limited space they have for their improvised desks - and will be continuing to do so for weeks still to come. It isn't easy, turning a home into an office. My home office is also my dining room, library, and Layla-May's bedroom at weekends ( ... )

Yes I get what you mean about the random meets. I had one colleague whom we only tended to meet up in the lift, so became a bit of a standing joke!

Its more the routine I miss for work - getting up at a set time each morning, doing the stuff I need to do before work. Driving there and psyching yourself up for the day ahead by having a coffee and reading the paper. I still read my paper but now electronically (cheaper too!) and coffee consumption gone through the roof (thanks Nespresso for the new delivery today! :D) but waking up is anything from 4am until 7.25am (that's when the alarm goes off and the latest I can get away with to do all the stuff before starting work at 8am) and getting to sleep at night can vary tremendously too.
