This is Halloween

MRAAA! I need to write some Halloween stuff before the month completely gets away from me!

I'm gonna try to utilize my Netflix account and watch some scary movies to get into the Halloween spirit and hopefully get inspired to write some Slayers Halloween stuff. If you've got any movie recommendations then feel free to give them!

I've been thinking ( Read more... )

movies, pokemon, slayers, halloween, stock, sailor moon

Oh, neat. I'm using a variation of that Sailor Moon picture as my current background (I forget where I found it), though the one you made is much nicer (I like the darker colours).

Love the novel of 'The Shining,' but its been forever since I saw the movie. Can't say I have any scary movie recommendations, though I've been thinking about how much I enjoyed The Devil's Backbone lately (it tends to be more sad than scary, but it does appear on 'scary film' lists once in a while).

Edited because I accidentally a few words

Thanks!

My sister read the novel and thought it was amazing. I won't say 'really enjoyed it' because apparently it really scared her. I should read more Stephen King books, but I don't doubt the man's ability to strike terror into my heart.

Rose Red is a classic Halloween movie for me, along with Hocus Pocus because I like Bette Midler.

Oh gosh I love your Pokemon icons. Ash and Misty were just so... cute.

EDIT: Okay Rose Red isn't a movie, my mistake. Apparently it's a mini-series (forgot to mention it's also made by Stephen King) for TV but I watched it altogether as a movie, so yeah.

Hmm... maybe I'll check that out if it's not too long a series. XD Oh, I remember Hocus Pocus!

Weren't they, though? I've been nostalgia tripping over them lately :3

My all-time favorite "horror" movie is the 1953 version of "The Thing From Another World". It's not quite a horror movie because the great majority of the humans refuse to get horrified: they know they're up against a grave threat, but they are determined to give better than they get.
And now that the subject has come up, Lina Inverse is sometimes known as the "Dragon Spooker", indicating dragons and other monsters may be scared of her. She certainly doesn't seem to be scared of them.

Huh. I hadn't heard of that before, but my Dad is a big sci-fi fan. I wonder if he's seen it... Unfortunately Netflix doesn't have that available for instant streaming... but it might be worth remembering in the future.

XD She really fails to appreciate the benefits of that title!
