Distractions
Summary: Pre-Chunnin/Itachi/Orochimaru. It's sometimes not Naruto's fault he's so clumsy, especially with explosive kunai. Unfortunately, Sasuke pays the price. Humor, one-sided NarutoxSakura, and unrealized subtext.

"Whatever!" Sasuke said defensively, after lowering Naruto down. They sat to let the blond catch his breath after falling forty feet, and clean the dirt off his face with a water canteen. "It's not like I care."
And then the REALLY AWKWARD SILENCE afterward--that was very funny, and at the same time, it's so obvious that he does care in his own "I'm such a bastard" way. :P Also--before this--how Naruto starts to apologize, stops himself, and tells Sasuke to shut up. :DDD Like you said--BFFs? *hopeful*

I think dialogue is rather hard to write because it's so easy to slip into OOC area. So, what I mean to say is: you did a great job. Again, I could see Sasuke and Naruto arguing - you have this skill of making me feel like this is happening in canon. And you write some of the best Naruto/Sasuke banter scenes I have seen.
This part was love:
"--AND I'M GOING TO KILL YOU YOU SELF-RIGHTEOUS BAST...--oh." Naruto's blue eyes blinked at him upside down. "Um...thanks." This reminded me so much of early canon that I felt nostalgic . I think it this little moment just shows that, in spite of their fighting and exchanging insults, Naruto and Sasuke are friends. That, and Naruto being sheepish is always cute ( ... )

You made them so in character, and their banter was so much fun. It makes me want to read the series all over again.
I miss those good old days! ♥
"Shit! Sorry Sas--I mean, SHUT UP!"
I don't know why, but that was my favourite part. Just.... Naruto switching from apologizing to telling Sasuke to shut up. It was great fun ;w;
Also, I'm pretty sure 'onna' just means 'woman'. Not especially rude or anything... It's more in how you say it than the actual word. (Like in any language, if you call someone 'Woman' rather than their actual name, you're pretty much just being a douche ;u; ♥)
