I think I finally figured out why people have always had trouble understanding my arguments. It is the casualty with which I pick up and discard assumptions, and the mistaken belief that I place any belief of my own in the assumptions, rather than simply using them as means to ends in the argument. Decided I wanted a sexy pencil for going back to school. Still think the Rotring 600 is the sexiest pencil around, but I am not about to spend $70 plus S&H for a fucking pencil. Decided it was time to ask for another raise. I got a 5% raise after 6 months of work but I still felt I was being highly underpaid.
