I was originally planning on going up the Cable Line trail up West Tiger #3 today, but I decided to tackle Si instead. Might've been a better idea to do Tiger, but oh well. I got a lot more exercise this way

I'm assuming you've already made sure that the heel cup is the right width, and that you've decently broken in the boots prior to taking them out on the trail. Do you use sock liners?
No room for a heel cup, other than the heel of the boot itself. There's no side to side movement in the heel area though. But no, they aren't fully broken in, they're relativly new mountaineering boots. Take forever to break in. Getting better though.
And yep, I always wear sock liners, if not two pairs of socks. Was using silk liners today.
Yeah, was referring to the heel cup of the boot itself. Hmm... other than this perhaps being something which will go away with breaking in (which I'm sure you can probably tell based on the boot itself) I'm not sure. Then again- I don't know the boots/issue spot/your anatomy well enough to make a good diagnosis anyhow. Blisters in certain areas are inevitable for me unless I use little anti-friction patchy thingies in certain shoes/boots due to the way my feet are. Just another aspect of my having a funky bod when it all comes down to it. Hope you figure something out though, blisters suck- especially when they make you have to bail on stuff.
incidentally- moleskin being called moleskin always irritates me. It feels NOTHING like mole fur if you ask me, and it just mis-represents the lovely velour beauty that is a mole pelt. bah.
