I was originally planning on going up the Cable Line trail up West Tiger #3 today, but I decided to tackle Si instead. Might've been a better idea to do Tiger, but oh well. I got a lot more exercise this way.
I'm in much better shape than the last time I climbed Si. My legs weren't an issue at all, just some general endurance and lungs, but nothing I couldn't push through. Ultimatly, I ended up bailing because I still can't figure out how to prevent heel blisters with these Mountaineering boots on sustained uphill stretches. I know they're sized correctly now, so that isn't it. I'll have to keep playing around with it. I ended up turning around at about 3.1 miles, so just .9 miles from the top, but I have a scramble trip next weekend, and my heels were getting progressivly worse even with the moleskin, probably because they'd already been aggravated.
Total distance: ~6.2 miles
Elevation Gained: ~2700-2800'
Time to summit: (Didn't reach, 1 hours 55 minutes to where I bailed)
Starting pack weight: 30Lbs
All things considered, I feel pretty good about this one. Especially given how badly I got my ass kicked by West Tiger on the last one. Definitely need to hit Si again soon and actually finish it. Or move on to Mailbox. =)
