If I plotted 2008 with the date on the x-axis, and how my life was going on the y-axis, I'd have an inverse bell curve ( Read more... )

We'll definitely be going to South America. Going to Europe was fun, but it really reinforced to me how much I love latin America. We're planning on Peru.

We'll also be going to Hawaii, but only because after all of our adventuring I've promised Katie a real "vacation" where we can just chill for a week ;-).

Nice. Yeah, I was actually thinking Peru. For some reason I'm wanting to see mountain ruins all of a sudden. Its been a long time since I've taken my camera somewhere other than the forests around here. Need to branch out. =)

I'm not sure how Katie things adventuring isn't a vacation though!

Katie loves adventuring - but it's definitely stressful. Not knowing where you're going to sleep each night; having to negotiate/translate everything; worrying about disease, bugs, etc; dealing with muggers, corrupt police, etc. We get back from our trips and while we always have a great time, we're ready to just veg for a week! We always spend the last night in the lap of sanitized luxury for that reason.

Of course, Europe wasn't like that - and I think that's, in part, why we didn't like it as much ;-).

Yeah, I can definitely see that. I think that's part of why I'm not really even considering Europe or one of the more "civilized" destinations. Good call on adding recovery time to the end of the trip though, I'll have to keep that in mind. Otherwise I'd probably schedule myself to be back at work the day after I fly into Seattle. :P

Hmm... south america sounds like fun, though a bit sunny for my disposition, heh. Might be doable with a stockpile of sunblock and a few spare parasols though, eh?

In all actuality, I'm rather sad that the places in south america that I'd really like to visit, are also the places that I'm most likely to be abducted and murdered.

Now tropics, while equally sunny, sound rather nice- I've always liked the idea of seeing real reefs and such in person, and not in a tank.

wow, that came out a little more scattered than I realized. I think that's what happens when I type comments whilst trying to watch "Extras"

You forgot one more thing for 2008:

GOT THE COOLEST ROOM-MATES EVAR.

Ahem. If I do say so myself.

:P

haha. I suppose that'd be included in that tail end of the inverse bell curve thing.

But yes, I'd be tragic if I didn't also mention that I have awesome roommates now as well. :P
