If I plotted 2008 with the date on the x-axis, and how my life was going on the y-axis, I'd have an inverse bell curve.
I guess there are worse graphs to represent a year (descending asymptote on December 31st?).
Started the year in a happy committed relationship. Bought a house, moved in with my fiance. Watched that relationship decay over the next few months before finally ending. That's as much as need be said on that subject anymore. =)
The last couple months have been great though. Reconnecting with old friends, making new ones. Getting more heavily into my climbing, and actually trying to get back in shape again. All in all, I think I'm on a good path for 2009.
Things I want to do this year:
Quit smoking for good this time (I'll need to do this for several of the other things I have planned)
Keep climbing ~3 times a week
Regularly climb 5.11a routes
Learn to lead climb
Climb outdoors finally
Hike Mt. Si and Mailbox Peak in one weekend (prep for the next item)
Hike the ~93 mile Wonderland trail if I can get a reservation (Submitting the application on March 15th)
Spend 4 days in the Enchantments in early fall and take lots of pictures (Also reservation required)
Backpack into Glacier Meadows and look longingly over Blue Glacier at the Mt. Olympus Massif, in hopes it'll motivate me to learn some self-arrest skills and get a group together to climb it in 2010
Maybe take up snowboarding come next winter
Renew my passport (Keep not getting around to this)
Leave the continent again, maybe somewhere in South America. I like travelling with at least one other person though, so this might be difficult.
Failing the above, go to Hawaii or the Caribbean somewhere. (No more reef tank, I need a coral fix. :P)
Pay off my credit card debt (I see a problem with this and some of the above items)
Keep my house from falling apart
Finish landscaping my yard
Keep my job (Please fix the economy President Obama!)
Yeah, I think that's about it. Am I missing anything obvious?
