World Autism Day
Today is World Autism Day. I didn't know this existed but a friend with an autistic child sent an email with information about it yesterday. Her husband is going to ibe interviewed this morning on the ABC.

Just a quick post about the strange summer day. It rained off and on all day. This is so untypical of summer that I wondered if it was really summer. It was fairly cool too. I've been inspired to start a garden again for the spring. A lady on a local homeschool list did a no-dig garden with her family this year. It looks kind of interesting so I might make a project of that for our family over the next few months. Maybe it will work for once. -
Saving fuel
Now that I am using my bicycle more often, I have started using it for shorter distance transport. I used my bike this morning to get to a doctor's appointment and got a total of 25 minutes of exercise just from that. Last week I took a dvd back to the video shop instead of driving...that trip alone was 5.5 kms (3.5 miles). I'm sure I'll be doing ( Read more... ) -
Brrrrr
Last week it was so warm we had the windows open and flies were everywhere. This week is downright chilly and cold. It was 3 C last night and I believe it. We had our bedroom window open slightly and it was freezing. I have closed it for tonight.

A hairband
Yep, that's what caused our washing machine to stop draining. It had wrapped itself around a part and stopped it draining. It cost $88 to get that out...we also found a $0.50 piece and a Nintendo DS game cartridge that had been missing (which surprisingly still works). -
Uni
My break from study is now over. This is week one of semester one so I'll be adding this work to my other commitments. I'm doing a unit on digital libraries which I think is relevent to libraries these days. The unit has just this morning been put online and it seems there are only fourteen of us this time. Wow! Our low last night was 27 C (80 F). That's several degrees higher than was predicted. -
Washing machine blues
Our washing machine, just purchased in September will not pump out the water. I've been doing it manually but have to pretty much sit through much of the cycle to reach a point where the spin cycle will kick in. I finally got through one load tonight.
