Oh, no, that totally sucks about your laptop! Computer problems are hell.
Time for a new laptop? Or just go desktop (attach separate monitor/keyboard/mouse) until I have a job that needs one, or I'm going overseas? I've always preferred laptops to desktops but I guess you have to do what's best for you. What's the cost like to replace the screen? Does the kind of computer you have generally have an issue with screens? I know when my Dell laptop died, I found out that the particular model I had tended to have a screen problem. My friend with the exact same laptop ended up losing her screen a couple of months after I did.
