That looks like pretty good soil you've got there too.

It's not bad soil, but there's a lot of clay and not much loam. On the garden beds, I've been adding garden peat and it really does well.

I hate to be a wet blanket but you do know what the neighborhood cats are going to do in the sandbox?

You are sooooo ambitious ! Do you have a sewing machine to make curtains? Or how is your hand work-they are simple.

We'll be putting a tarp over the sandbox. I'm sure that it'll still get hit, but what the heck, that's life.

The last time I bought fabric, I about swallowed my tongue. But that's an excellent idea -- I'll look around and see if I can find something on sale, or I might be able to repurpose something....hmmm.

On the fabric: I've taken unbleached muslin and tie dyed it. Also thrift stores have sheets , blankets and sometimes fabric that can be repurposed.
