#175 doesn't actually answer its title.

#175: How do I change the appearance of my comment pages or other users' comment pages?

That's a nice title, but the actual FAQ only tells you what account levels can or cannot do it, and how ?style=mine affects it. It should absolutely contain instructions about where and how you can actually go to switch custom comment pages on or off. :)

Hrm.

The bottom half *does* say how to dis/enable others' comment pages in your journal style: "Enable the View comment pages in your journal style option on your Viewing Options page." I'm not sure that it's necessary to say "Ticky to enable." It *may* be helpful to have a [h3] subheader there, such as "Comment pages of other users."

The top half is a little unclear, I'll grant that.

If you're Paid/Perm/Plus S2, you'd need to go to the Custom Options page at [http://www.livejournal.com/customize/options.bml]. There already is a link to FAQ #7, which provides a link to the Journal Display page right off the bat, but it might be good to provide a direct link to the Custom Options page.

If you're S1, Basic S2, or Early Adopter S2, you're outta luck, so there are no instructions. :)

So... Howsabout this?

How do I change the appearance of my comment pages or other users' comment pages?

By default, comment pages display in the site ... )

Seems like bridgetester got to it already - the FAQ was quite different earlier today when I posted this. ;)

Oops! Never mind, then!

That'll teach me not to look at the last-updated date more closely.

No worries. Thanks for the thought. Those are the important parts of this community, thinking, linking, and writing.
