Not liking the new hover menu AT ALL. I have a section in my layout that customizes it and this new version just vetoes that option.

I also miss the 'profile' and 'journal' options, as they and the 'send message' where the only ones I used. Yes, clicking on their name may take me to their journal, but clicking on their userpics only takes me to THEIR USERPICS - the same thing it did before. (Also - the userpic doesn't show up if the person is using their default icon - which is all that's showing up due to the glitch) Which is fine, but not what I'm looking for.

I know I personally would prefer an option to switch back to the default setting on the hover menu since none of the new options apply to me whatsoever.

Also, the new font when writing a post is... no. As well as the glitch that's only showing default userpics for comms and friends pages.

Um, you need to click on the userhead to get to the profiles? The thingy with pink ponytails next to my username and/or the orange-red whatchamacallit next to a comm name?

Aaaah.. suddenly it's all clear. Thank you for that.

Of course, that doesn't mean I like the hoverbox any more than I did before.

ETA: Those don't seem to show up in the hover menu OR on comm/friends pages. So.. that's really only helpful in a community page entry.

Um... why would they be in the hover menu when any < lj user=username > link automatically adds it next to the linked username, so you can click them even with the hover menu off?

Also, you lost me there -- any page I view, customized or not, has userheads in lj user links; they might be customized to be some other graphic than the lj-provided ones, but they're there; I'm not even sure they could be removed altogether without similar custom layout editing (which is way beyond my tinkering powers, and I've been fixing up my layout so it, you know, doesn't suck, for years). Are you sure we're both still talking about the little head-and-shoulders shaped pic next to your username in shadecat?

Don't suppose you're going to fix the change you made to 10 years of UI when you suddenly decided that clicking on the comments link should skip the actual journal entry?

The change was intentional (and a reasonable one too, if you ask me), so I think you should go to suggestions with this.

It's a random change in UI that breaks user expectations with no warning. So I think it should be fixed.

Clicking on comments should go directly to comments. This is a change I thoroughly applauded. If you want to go to the entry, click on its title, or on the 'link' link below the entry.

Hey, there is a bug (I sure hope it's a bug) that is making only default userpics appear on friends pages even if a different icon was used in the journal itself.

Joining the voices saying the new hover menu is really unwieldy, I don't like how much space it takes up since I do most of my surfing from a laptop that doesn't have that big of a resolution. Could we at least do two columns for stuff like the ban checkboxes so it's not as vertically unwieldy? I'm also getting the userpic to only show up sometimes, and accessing userpics quickly is the thing I use the hovermenu for the most, so if you could look into that, it'd be fantastic.

EDIT: Also thank you for changing HTML entry back to fixed-width, but can it get pumped up a point or two? It seems to be a bit smaller than the font size on the comment entry form.

Yes, this! Maybe it's my ripe old age of 31, but I find it so difficult to read because it is so small.

Not sure if this is where to put it, but I'll write a bug report later, I'm on my way out right now. Count another person with the weird "only defaults on friends page" glitch, or whatever it is. What the heck's going on?

Interestingly enough, that 'default user-pic on friends-view' bug doesn't happen on the 'View Friends Page' module on the portal page.
But then, clicking on comments on the portal page still takes you to the entry, not the comments and any filtering for tags you set up doesn't affect it, either.
I still hope that one day both views can work the same way... ?

And I'll add my vote to the new hover being TOO BIG! Lots of white space with little content.

What do you mean by portal page?

This one I've used it as my starting point on lj from the beginning.

Okay. I was shown this one before but I forgot about it. I always go directly to either my journal, profile or friend's page.
