Aug 01, 2011 16:28

As many of you are aware, LiveJournal underwent an attack last week which resulted in some downtime and caused other accessibility issues during this time. While the attack is over, some intermittent issues remain which we are in the process of fixing ( Read more... )

As usual that does nothing for permanent members. Can we please have a few icon slots? Anything? We could not access the site either and that was also frustrating. You are not serious.

This is totally frustrating.

And don't say that permanent members don't deserve compensation for the same frustrations that everyone else have. That is just not true. This has been just as frustrating for me as anyone else...

LJ always forgets this level of member when it does this kind of thing.

YAY MATHS. Here are a couple of simple ways to prove it:

x = 0.999...
10x = 9.999...
10x - x = 9
9x = 9
therefore x = 1

or

1/3 x 3 = 1
1/3 = 0.333...
0.333... x 3 = 0.999...

Same number.

You are just as cute as split complex! Wow!

I am well aware of what permanent membership gets me, dude (or dudette).

My point was that permanent members are always left out of these little deals and never get any gift for their frustration. I have tried to post during this downtime, I manage communities, play rpgs here etc...and just like you, could do none of that...a small token would go a long way in their customer service scheme.

You and split complex should totally friend each other. You are totally cute and think the same way! I think I will fix you guys up. Go look at the comments above and "friend" them right away. I am sure you guys have LOTS to talk about!

BECAUSE YOU LOST NOTHING QUANTIFIABLE.

SERIOUSLY.

I commented below. Not loss, inconvenience and frustration. You obviously don't work in customer service or any service industry at all.

Caps, really?

No, not inconvenience and frustration. Loss. You obviously don't understand economics. If there was no such thing as a paid account on this service at all, no one would be being compensated at all.

LOL, you think this is bad, you should go see the bawwwwww-fest that is happening on LJ news. I tried to explain exactly what you are explaining about a million times, and they either...don't understand, or do not want to understand. Ugh.

Time is not quantifiable?

What time is it?

I would, if I could get the unused portion of my perm membership refunded, etc.

Perm members have provided LJ the most financial support (I don't know anyone who's "broke even" on their perm account, yet) and yet get shit on the most.

Very disappointing to see what what LJ has become and how it's being run.

You're right, they should refund the one-infinitieth of your permanent membership that you tragically didn't get to use when they were being DDOSed for daring to support free speech. Now, as soon as you work out what one divided by infinity is, you can get back to me on that.

This comment is my favorite. I'd really like to know what the compensation should be for this portion of infinity.

You know what I'm an evil "free user" and don't really care about anything, I just felt the urge to add maths equations to the statement.
