Seriously, could you think of a better way to make everyone hate you because they want to BE you than doing well in reporting AND getting props from Foley? I miss journalism sometimes (taking PR writing this fall though :-D).

And by everyone, you mean Shannon? haha.

Thankfully my Lab doesn't hate me. They hate this other kid who has gotten published in the alligator three times already. I think he has a pack with the devil ;)

Awww... what's PR writing like?

LOL, nope, I was one of the best in my lab too so I don't have to hate as I am a participant. :-D

I dunno what it's like yet but we'll seeeeee!

Congrats on rockin' the reporting!

Funny to see 'lead' spelled as 'lede'. Stylistic convention, I guess, my journalism prof here spells it 'lead'. All those years of journalism have helped a lot in my journalism class here. Which reminds me, I should write Mrs. M about getting published! And you should too!

I'm hoping to get some more stuff published this summer. Yeah freelancing. :)

Also - you'll be at the beach on the sat-sun of June 25-6, yes? I may come down on one of those days.

Haha, it's hard for me to type it as "lede", but I'm trying to get in the habit. Foley uses lede, so I figure most newspapers do.

Yeah, the Bark has definitely helped out, although now there's so much more that I think Mrs. Maassen could teach style-wise. I mean, it was good practice for interviewing and getting quotes and such, but she never really taught any sort of style, other than a random scattering of AP style.

I've been trying to get these stories published too. Tried to get my Hurricane Charley story published back at home, but no luck yet. Yarr.

And no, I won't be at the beach then. We have to be out of the condo by 10 a.m. June 25, so chances are I'm just going to drive back to Gainesville the night of June 24. =(

I think the 23rd would be the best.
