When I proposed having a party this summer to celebrate all the big events & milestones in our family, it never occurred to me how it might snowball. I persuaded my mom to let me invite the entire family, never suspecting that so many of them might actually come. I thought it would be like my plans for my 50th birthday trip with my friend Russell:

How brilliant that it all came together so well - it looks like such a blast and such a rare opportunity for everyone to get together. The photos are full of life, joy and love.

What is your grandmother's secret for looking so young? No way does she look anywhere near 100! And how wonderful that she's still here with you all. ♥♥

It is so hard to get a large family together. My mother-in-law had 10 siblings, and there is a family gathering every other year. But when all the people come from out of town, then more people make an effort to join in the fun.
