And I believe the "Goddard" that is commemorated with a shuttle craft, as your second choice, was born down the relative street from me; Robert Goddard, the father of modern rocketry.

Indeed he was. Also the man Goddard Air Base is named after. In fact, quite a few pictures of him came up with the search, but I liked this one cause it was pretty.

From the preveiw I've seen of the comic, Book's in IT. So... either he's in the movie too, or something happens over the course of the mini series.

But... the comic book bridges the gap temporally between the show and the movie. How is that spoilery? It's like saying Final Flight of the Osiris is spoilery for Reloaded.
