Orgy of Geekery

Mike and I had a very little extra money, so we put it to the good use of splurging on ourselves a little bit for the purposes of regaining our sanity.

So, first we went to see Fantastic Four.

Reed, that's my nose )

harry potter, squeeing, fic meta, v for v, farscape, dr who, star wars, fantastic four, terra firma

"Marvel is 7 for 7"

You actually count Elektra Liza? O.o

Actually, no I didn't. I forgot about it. So you must be miscounting, too.

X1, X2, Spidey1, Spidey2, Hulk, FF, DD. That's Seven. Holding verdict on Electra till I've seen it.

No spoilers from me, just don't hold high hopes.

Thanks.

I wish she'd read the Sirius/Remud pron that's everywhere.

But yeah, sos fandomy.

And,like I said, I still like Snape. And I like Draco more now.

And both Narcissa and Bellatrix now officially move up from 'Wussy Quiditch/trophy mom' and 'Bitch hurt Neville's parents!!! DIE!!!' to '. . . daymn woman!'. Which is a good thing.

And Bill/Fleur made me laugh.

And Trewlaney? Reads tarot at about my speed. And I'm a newb. But I love her!

Sirius still shouldn't be dead, dammit!

There are things I think not even JK will do for her fans.

Wheras I now grudgingly like them both.

Yes indeed. Because I'm all about the semi-sympathetic villains. ...I still hate Bellatrix, though.

And Bill/Fleur made me laugh.

Well, it is pretty damn funny. "I am beautifull enough for uz both!"

And Trewlaney? Reads tarot at about my speed. And I'm a newb. But I love her!

See, I think what drives me bonkers about Trelawney is that I'd make a better divination teacher. And she means we see less of Firenze. And I fucking love Firenze. I just love JK's Centaurs in general.

Sirius still shouldn't be dead, dammit!

I'm still not totally convinced he is. I just think we needed a real tragedy before she felt right bringing him back.

The only thing that beats good boy slash is good angsty boy slash. I think JK shoudl consider this wisdom. Hell, Draco cried nd we never had one 'Remus pining over lost love' scene.

Hmm . .devious, that.

One of the things I love about her.

And I think anybody with a good guide to tarot and a couple falshy bangles would be better than Trewlany (pleae ignore my copious amount of jewelry. Really, it's cause I have a . . .silver deficency?). But she still goes about it, rockin' the wannabe gypsy look.

But Firenze does rock. out loud.

She was accurate, to be fair... she's just really, REALLY bad at assessing her own abilities and knowing when she's got something and when she doesn't.

And the fasion sense I will not comment on.

But Firenze does rock. out loud.

Like a rocking thing. Like a rocking chair on the rock of ages, even.

Fantastic Four - It wasn't a bad movie, by any stretch of the imagination, but nor did it rise to the heights of the great comic book movies. I consider it a B-level franchise, better than Hulk, not as good as the X-Men and Spiderman movies. But super extra bonus points for casting dear old Horatio. Between Richards and Hornblower and Century City, I almost wanna go out and find Arthur, just to see more of Gruffud.

And yeah, Ben rocked my socks off.

As for V for Vendetta... holy sweet mother of the gods! It wasn't enough to get Weaving back, but you had to put him in the coolest movie going, huh guys? Pity about the mask, though; I keep having images of the Fang Gang fighting off a constantly replicating horde of V's, now, while Angel heads out to save the ballerina.

It's cool. Though I might disable anonymous posting, if only to remind my freinds to log in. :D Since everybody who reads this thing (or at least comments) now has an LJ, I think it'd be okay.

*nods* Okay, to be entirely fair, that's about where I'd rate it, too. Except DD for me is in teir "A" with Spidey and X-men. Well, maybe the next notch down.

*facepalms* Is that where I've seen him before?! Damn, I feel less geeky.

And yeah, Ben rocked my socks off.

Well, he rocks. Like a rocking Thing, even. *hides*
