LOL Robot Chicken! I haven't seen that show in a while. It always makes me laugh. It's like "O HAY HERE'S LOTS OF RANDOM CLAYMATION"
I'm not all that surprised that it's on your interests page. Liza has fandom osmosis. "Here's an obscure fandom I haven't thought about in years. Yep, Liza knows about it."
*grins* I fell helplessly in love with Robot Chicken after getting cable and first being exposed to it. It's EXACTLY what I would do with Seth Green's money and connections.
"being sufficiently obsessive" is a reference to something Paul Goddard said in an interview once, about how weather he focuses on music or acting (his two passions) at any given time and how much he gets accomplished is a matter of being sufficiently obsessive. I liked the phrase, and I love Paul, so I nicked it. I am probably more than sufficiently obsessive about Paul, but the poor man doesn't have many fangirls, so I like to think I pick up the slack.
The icon is a combination of imagry from "The Matrix" and "The World - which is the realistic cyberscape in the .hack game/manga/anime/novel series(es). (The keyword I use for it is an injoke between me and urrah, referring to a fanfic of hers)

Oooh, thank you for the links! I know some of these sites, but not others...
Oh, word of caution - avoid www.truthofthespoon.net - it's a cult, and a nasty one at that. Sounds good on the surface, but it's rife with abuse and psychotic behaviour.
...astrogirl2 can come too, even if she technically doesn't count.
Hooray! That might go some way towards eliminating the annoyance I suffered in my childhood at the hands of well-meaning adults who were convinced I must not actually know what my own name was. :)
I really hate that for many people condescension is thier default setting when dealing with kids. Me, I still remember what it was like to be one, so I tend to talk to kids more or less on the same level - if anything, I tend to err to far in the other direction - but I find that annoys kids less, and they learn things that way.
When I was seven, I decided that most adults clearly had forgotten what it was like to be a kid, or they wouldn't act the way they do around kids, and I made a promise to myself that I'd remember what it felt like to be seven. Sadly, the older I get, the harder this becomes.
