Yay! I finally finished programming the soundtrack so it shows up exactly the way I want it to, complete with art.

Due to the size of the full post, however, LiveJournal keeps giving me "post is too large" warnings. I have to break this whole thing up into 5 posts.  Apologies in advance.

Hoping Human Sexual Response and maybe some of the other Rat Cellar punk bands of the late 70s/early 80s have made your list.

Oh, and you know Pete Seeger lives in the Berkshires, so you can count him? and my boy Bela started his career with Tasty Licks out of Boston. (Actually started out busking at the Commons.) And of course, all things Rounder.

I sadly have no tracks by Bela Fleck, Pete Seeger, or the any of the Rat bands. *hangs head in shame* Unbelievable. With a collection like I've got, not one from any of the bands you mentioned.

(I just did a quick search to be sure...thank you music library software!)

I have no excuse for Fleck or Seeger, I know. The others I think may have pre-dated my maturation in music appreciation in anything not Top 40, so I've got nothing by the Rat bands. (Yes, my taste in music during my high school years was found somewhat wanting. I was a deeply uncool kid.)

Will you be at ponders_life's house on 2/4? If yes, I can make you a bizarre little compilation disk. If nothing else, I know you will be a fan of HSR's Jackie Onassis ("I want to be Jackie Onassis/I want to wear a pair of big sunglasses"....). And you can remind me to tell you the Christmas tree story, too. That one never goes in writing at all, much less on the www.

If you have kids of a certain age - or if you're a shameless trivia buff/armchair traveler - I really don't have to say anything about this song, do I?

If you have kids of a certain age?

Or if you are a kid of a certain age. I know that wisdomeagle and I both have fond memories, and I'm sure we're not alone...
