Dark Xander: Nobody Never Gets to Heaven; Part 4/?

Jan 14, 2007 16:20

Today was MarcsMom's Unbirthday (yesterday being her Birthday), so I ended up hanging around the ol' homestead for a bit. By the time I scraped the thin ice off my car, dodged people driving either at 90 mph or 15 mph on the highways, and made it home, I was mentally exhausted and not up for another round of playing dodge-'em with people who've ( Read more... )

*whistles innocently*

Buffy definitely has a few things to say about it.

Oh boy. Does anyone else think, with Kennedy as whacked out as she is, that if she returned to watch the Buffy-Xander interaction she will NOT be happy? On another note, Xander assumes that gaining a soul makes the crazy go away. If this is not true, Willow may be very disappointed.

Xander is...well, let's just say that right now he's not the clearest thinking vamp on the planet. Plus, one of his key faults (the human version) is that he wants happy endings. The tragedy is that he never really gets them. So, methinks that if the worst happens, Willow won't be the only person crushed.

I'm sorry to hear about your driving experience. Bad weather driving isn't much fun. Heck! considering the amount of goofballs on the road good weather driving isn't much better ( ... )

Buffy has a boatload of other issues that she has to deal with, so it's still down to Faith and Spike playing Xander's bodyguard. The good news is that they knew it would happen going in. The bad news is they didn't take into account that someone who'd actually been affected by Xander's psycho days might be mulling revenge.

The reasons for Xander breaking Kennedy are...well...complicated. Definitely the issue of control is at play, but there are other issues that are less clear-cut.

The whole point of soulless vamp Xander is that without all his human baggage, he can make use of devious impulses without guilt. Hence, his ability to get to Slayers and Watchers, his ability to attract victims, and his ability to break down Kennedy to the point where she's in a twisted co-dependent relationship with him.

Great continuation. The more we learn about vamp Xander the more I am surprised that he is alive. I think Willow has a lot to answer for.

I am guessing here but I wonder whether Willow has already tried reensouling Kennedy such that we now have three personalities warring. Vampken, kennedy and the composite vamp/slayer baby ?

Plus looks like Buffy has been slightly out the loop whilst chasing Kennedy, big ructions coming.

Vamp Xander is a messed up puppy for a lot of reasons, and Willow certainly hasn't helped. Xander's still undusty because of Spike and Faith, and pretty much for no other reason. Spike's in an odd position of not only being human, but in essence is Xander's 'acting sire' (for lack of a better term) because Xander keeps trying to define himself as something he's really not anymore.

You're close to the "Kennedy complication," but you're a little off on the cause. :-)

And, yeah, Buffy is definitely out of the loop on a lot of things, but she's also bearing information. She's essentially the in-house Kennedy expert for Xander.

New England isn't that bad. I live in Dallas, where people forget how to drive in any kind of weather. Between rain storms. You can imagine what it's like today with a quarter to a half inch of ice on the roads. and have i mentioned that Texans love building very high, sweeping overpasses that freeze early. picture a very large ski jump with cars sliding downwards, sideways.
