Hiatus Re-watch, Season 1 - 1x02 - Showmance

I always felt like “Showmance” was the episode that, after the novelty and excitement of the Pilot, kind of clapped its hands and got down to business. Like, “okay, here we go, this is what this show is going to do.” Not because it’s the greatest episode that Glee ever did, but maybe just as that recognition that the Pilot worked, so this takes it ( Read more... )

What are you talking about, Jarley is the best couple they've ever had on screen!! (I need that Kurt gif that reads 'I'm Kidding'.)

Lol, your comments about Will. Totally in the same boat where I once found Wemma engaging, now all I see is--STOP EMOTIONALLY MANIPULATING WILL!! And as much as I dislike Terri, he kind of was oblivious to her issues as well. Just--bleck Will all around. All the adult stuff kind of gives me a headache, which is why I don't go back and watch season one very often.

Is it weird that I find Finchel more endearing this time around? There's some awkward sweetness going on there.

Living on all the Kurt background moments. :)

Every time I see Kurt in Push It I think: Baby Penguin my butt. Makes me want to dig up people's meta on season one Kurt and sex.

Yeah, I didn't mind the adults back when it first aired, but now they make me CRAZY and I really can't go back. Way too much.

The Finchel stuff does have a lot of young, naive, misguided sweetness. They're very endearing.

And yes, I absolutely watch for Kurt in the background of everything. He was such a pissy little sassmaster back then. Dripping with disdain. I love it.

You definitely hit the nail on the head with the New New Directions.

I liked when Kurt smacked Finn on the ass during Push It!

Yes, I caught that moment of Kurt smacking Finn's ass and then Finn looking TERRIFIED that people had seen that and OMG NOW THEY'LL THINK I'M GAY.

Finn remained a clumsy doofus with his words and actions, but he came a LONG way from the homophobia of Season 1 and early Season 2.
