Some people are just assholes. Somebody once did the same thing when I was crossing the street in a crosswalk. He was in a huge, lifted pickup truck. Bastard.

Sorry about the scare with the truck driver/ Asshole he was, really. Once it is lighter out again maybe you will be wanting to ride you bike again. Where did you get that photo? Really nice depiction of the bridge!

The photo is pilfered from the web. I found it as #7 on a list of the worst things about Portland. I would like to ride my bike but I only want to do it in situations where I feel I have some control. ... which may be illusory, but I want the feeling, at least.
