SOLD!! Offer: Fiction Critique from a Historical Perspective. SOLD!!

Jul 04, 2008 23:41

Offer: If you have an AU set in the 1940s, or your fandom takes place in Korea during the war, or about writers in WWI, and you don't want to spend a ton of time doing research (or just want your research checked), this is for you.

I will read a story/manuscript for historical accuracy, as well as just giving you a thorough beta (if you want)!

This is not quite what you offered for but I'd thought I'd ask anyway.

I want to write a story set in France, but it's set mid-nineteenth century, which is rather earlier than the 1940s. Would you still be comfortable beta-ing it? Alternatively, can I bid just so I can pick your brain for info on the time period while I'm writing? Do you know much about writers/poets of that time?

Ohh, I know 19th c. France better than I know most countries in that time period. (For some reason, despite my preference for different countries, France always factored into my classes more fully than almost any other country ( ... )

I'm going to exercise the BIN option. I pretty much know nothing about France in any time period, so anything you tell me is likely to help, but I'm especially interested in the influences on French writers. I'm going to be out of touch for the next week or so (I'm in the middle of moving halfway across the country right now). Email me (dragonfly.productions@hotmail.com) if you want me to forward confirmation of the donation, or if you have a preferred contact method (email addy, AIM, whatever), and we can talk more next week. Thank you so much for making this offer!
