Nefertiti bust is a fake!

I know I've ranted about the Night at the Museum franchise before (Hank Azaria as a pharaoh in the next one, kill me plz), but can I say this one more time?

As to your first question, the answer is all of the above. Humanity originated in modern-day Sudan, and from there people migrated to all corners of the world, including Central, Nothern (i.e. Egypt!), and Southern Africa. (I know you think the San are THE ORIGINAL PEOPLE. But I think you're wrong. They may have the oldest CURRENTLY EXISTING genes, but they're still a spin-off so to speak. Sorry Peej ( ... )

I think colorblind is a weird term because it implies some sort of ignorance and insensitivity - but I'm colorblind in as much as I don't give a shit. I would never ever ever seek someone out to be friends with because of their skin color; or their culture for that matter. The same way that I would never reject someone because of those things. Nor do I particularly care about my own culture - some of which I suppose I find abhorrent, but I find it easy to dismiss that as specifically not my culture because capital C Culture is reductivist. There is no collective black identity. There is no collective female/male identity. There is no collective arab identity; catholic identity; jewish identity. Sure we're shaped by what's around us - but using what exists around us as constant reference points for ourselves results in an ultimate superficiality. It's like people listing all their favorite bands on Myspace and thinking that that's going to help people REALLY get to know them ( ... )

You're definitely right that in reality, there is no collective Black/woman/Christian identity, and so on. People are much more complicated than that ( ... )
