☆008-Finders but not keepers.

It seems I've found few interesting things lately. Some are a little unconventional, so I think asking over the journals about finding them new homes is the best bet.

First off is something that found me. Pretty sure I know the home this one belongs in, though. Bastet, you wouldn't happen to be missing something furry, would you ( Read more... )

A propeller blade? What would that be for in an umbrella?

...That icon is adorable. live_ringer April 10 2010, 17:06:50 UTC
Air conditioning? Making julian fries?

You got me. At first glance I thought it was just for novelty, but when I looked at the machinery behind it, it looked like it was meant to pack a surprising bit of power.

White Mage!Krile is always adorable... also lol, technofail feathered_earth April 10 2010, 17:18:28 UTC
...I'm not sure what those things are. (Is that like french fries?)

It sounds really interesting, though--if I knew more about machines I'd look at it, but I don't think I could do much with it.

(They're the same thing, julian's just sliced thinner.)

The offer's appreciated. If worse comes to worse, nobody claims it and I'm left with a combination umbrella/fan. Not a bad deal.

Oh, good. She stopped by my place yesterday looking for him.

That so? Did she mention how long he's been MIA?

Not long. Maybe a day or so.

Strikes are still rather readable. live_ringer April 11 2010, 00:37:52 UTC
Good to know. Now I don't have to feel guilty about keeping him the night.

Though, waking up with a cat on top of my face makes me think I should have said something sooner.

A spinning propeller, hmm? How very interesting.

Certainly unusual, though I have to wonder why someone would add a propeller to something that's likely to fly away in a strong breeze as is.

And now I wish we had a Mary Poppins. Lol. burntorangesky April 10 2010, 17:45:14 UTC
Then again, Cara found weaponized bells. There is no telling what some people might do to everyday household objects.

I should like to see this umbrella, if no one else is interested in it.

...Y'know, I can see Fred dressed like Mary Poppins. Maybe it's the accent. live_ringer April 10 2010, 17:52:41 UTC
True. Really, I think I'd be less surprised if this was just a simple weapon. I don't think it'd be two hard to fit a retractable sword in there. Same principle as a sword cane.

Sure thing. D'you want me to bring it with me to the Scrapyard on Monday if no one stakes a claim?

[Oh-ho!]

Is there a small piece of a red rope stuck on the metal piece you found?

live_ringer April 10 2010, 17:49:14 UTC
There is, actually. Part of why I adopted the 'keychain' theory.

I'm guessing it sounds familiar?

floating_bamboo April 10 2010, 17:55:50 UTC
It is... in fact, I already have three others. I think it is a set belonging to my sword.

Can I buy it from you?

Belonging to a sword, huh? Like a decorative element or something?

Sure. I recognize your writing, but I'm blanking on the name. You're the guy who owns the tea shop, right?

...I must be still drugged. I thought I read that you found a flying umbrella.

live_ringer April 10 2010, 21:13:33 UTC
Well. It might fly if you let it go and just let the propellers do the work. Though there's no way in hell to guide it if you did.

Still feeling like shite, hm?

man_genius April 10 2010, 21:56:38 UTC
You guide it with your body clearly. What kind of mad scientist created that one?

[Seriously which one? He's jealous he didn't think of it first]

Better than before actually. I'll be fit to go back to work this week. But if you see Boss tell him I'm still horribly contagious.

So what, you swing your feet in the direction you want it to take you? Flail in the general direction you want to head? Sounds graceful.

Ha, will do. But if he insists on shutting you in your room to quarantine you, I refuse to be held accountable.
