[That broadcast confuses Stellaris. In the parts she could follow, when the occasional static didn't kick in, she is pretty certain the speaker was Gene. The other man's voice feels familiar, as does the terms 'Katharon', Gundam Meister' and 'Celestial Being'. So when after a long static noise the Middle-Eastern man said the name 'Lockon Stratos', it throws her off track. Was the Irishman Lockon all along? Or was he speaking about Lockon to Gene, and the staticked parts caused her to misunderstand?]

Hello, Lockon? The radio seems rather fond of you.

[This is going to be a long day, he can tell.]

I think 'fond' is debatable.

...For the record, I'm pretty sure that wasn't 'Lockon', or at least not someone who cares to go by the moniker.

[Another pause before he adds.] But Lyle or Gene work just fine.

[Ouch! She felt incredibly guilty about calling the wrong name.]

I'm sorry, Gene.

...but I can't hear what's before 'or'. Is it a name?

[Your name?]

[It's a little funny, because he can't say that being called the name feels wrong, exactly. It's the same sort of vague sense he got when he felt awkward calling his brother by the name.

Without knowing why the designation stirs up so many mixed emotions, he's just going to choose to ignore it for now.]

Yeah, it's a name. As far as I can tell, it's mine. [There's a bit of a curious pause.] You couldn't hear that bit, huh?

Ok maybe I'm the only one lost here, but I can't tell the difference between people's names, titles or job descriptions.

Pretty sure you're not the only one.

[There's a tired, irritated edge to his voice. Not directed at Genius, but rather, the situation.]

Got a feeling I can pick out at least one that counts as a name, though.

Probably not. The bane of having a genetic double.

Which one? Lyle? That's your name?

[man TOTAL LETDOWN. Lyle is such a wussy name.]

It certainly has it's share of pratfalls.

As far as I can piece together, yeah.

[Try telling him that to his face, Genius.]

[Is really kind of confused here--isn't Lockon Neil's codename? But this person called himself Lyle, which means it's probably Gene, so...]

...Gene?

[Yeah, it confuses the heck out of him, too. Lots of info, little context, and not much time to sort through it the way he usually would.]

Present.

Or I guess I should say Lyle. That was you, then. With Gundam.

Either works, but I can't deny that last one has kind of a comfortable feel to it.

That's what Krile said. I never really got a chance to talk with the guy one-on-one. More's the pity, I guess.

[There's a gasp. She hasn't heard that voice in ages.]

That was Gundam!

What--no, never mind. I guess you don't know what was going on there either... Lyle?

Well, yeah, the word was mentioned a few times--[He cuts himself off as realization hits.]

You mean the person Gundam? [Actually, that made sense, if he thought back to the Gundam-saturated dream he was privy to about a year ago.]

Not particularly, short stuff. ...But yeah, it's me. [And actually hearing someone call him that drives the point home.]

Yeah. [small pause.] That's his voice.

It's a nice name. [If the circumstances were different, she'd ask if he wants to keep it secret like Neil does, but... yeah.] Should I call you that, or stick to Gene?

Hm. I'll have to keep that in mind.

[Luckily, even in canon he doesn't care nearly as much about keeping his name under wraps as Neil does.]

I can go by either. ...Might want to try Lyle out for a while to see how it suits, though.

... What on God's green Earth does Gundam mean?

[RICK IS LATCHING ONTO THE IMPORTANT PART OF THIS, CLEARLY.]

Probably something involving guns, judging by the name.

[Avoidant? Him? Naaaww.]

It makes sense given my skill set and the fact that this guy says I should be a meister of one, right?

[This is, technically, the truth! Just not the whole truth.]
