Yeah, that's why I went into it: just because my Arthur is bottoming most of the time doesn't mean he's passive (just like if Eames did that that wouldn't make him a sub either) and I think that's one of the things I love about his person in that he doesn't fit all the stereotypical slots most probably think he does. That and I love defying gender roles and all that bullshit (Arthur will often treat his partner as an equal to himself or at least the same as he would man or woman).

And I have no idea what the plural is XP I've been trying to figure that out to be honest. And yes, me and dreamsofmazes were discussing something like that earlier and it's just like, 'where's the development? the relationship aspect?' and really, in the movie I see someone who can be sexual, most likely does enjoy sex but he's not wrapped up in it. I feel Arthur can [and has] actually go[ne] months without it. (In one verse, yearsLOL exactly! I think that's what I was trying to get at you just said it better with less words. XD But ( ... )

Oh that was the other thing I meant to comment on. I so see the experiment with Yusuf thing being not submissive so much as controlling. He wasn't willing to accept the word of anyone else that the formula did what they needed it to for inception. Worth looking kind of silly to know with his own mind and body that it would do what was needed.

I admit, I see Arthur as being too controlling for submission, though if he had a mind for it, he'd do it but would still end up topping from the bottom. It always seems to me more like: So I want to submit, so you're going to make me by doing this and this and this.

I don't get it. I like the play up and the tension and all. Smut is all fine and all, and sometimes has a reason for being RIGHT NOW FIVE MINUTES AFTER WE MET but there should be room for more than that as well. Heh. One verse I got mean and made him a virgin. He still hates me for it since I keep setting himself up for tension.

EXACTLY. Arthur, in my mind, is independent enough to do things on his own but also selfless enough to try his best for the rest of the team - including experimenting with the sedative to make sure he could hold the dream on his level when it came time to.

That's always my thing - Arthur tops from the bottom and if he submits it's only because he wants to, not because anyone has complete control over him.

Yeah and that's what I like, too. The build up to something that way when the smut comes, there's more to it than just sex. There's other stuff going on underneath the surface and that just makes it all that much better, imo. LOL well, my Arthur has several verses but he doesn't remain a virgin for very long in most of them. : \

I may have just died laughing, love. Your Arthur could probably re-form the Roman Empire and make it fucking work, if he put his mind to it.

P.S.: Eames will gladly chase your Arthur down. and do terrible things to him and let him beat him up while he does it.

P.P.S.: Eames would love to make more semi-nudity with Arthur.
