See, if I knew that a heat proof mat thing was called a trivet, it would make far more sense. But yes, the item we got was indeed a trivet, although we thought was useful as a tie rack, a draining board, a keyring display thing, a door mat, and a few other things that were dismissed because the boring members of our group decided it was far too random...
