I think we can all agree on the fact that Michael Weatherly hit that one out of the park, yes?
As far as I'm concerned, that ball is still in the air.
Fantastic, fantastic review. I've read a few comments here and there that made me wonder whether I'd even seen the same show last night, that perhaps much was born of wishful thinking.
But this? This was the show I watched. I think the writers and MW truly defined what makes Tony tick...and revealed a depth that many may never have expected.
Thank you for sharing such thoughtful analysis! Off to re-watch, now armed with your insights as well.
Jeez...I can only see the Ep in 4 hours when I get home, but after reading this... it seems that every scene had flashed through my eyes. I actually was moved by a scene you described and I didn't see it yet! I'll come back later on to leave another compliment...you're writing and perspective are amazing :) I'm so glad I found you, Sammy!^-^
Brilliant review as always, I'm planning on watching it at least twice more tonight. Once just because, and again to really get all the clues for the big arc. The car explosion scene. When Ziva looks over at Tony, the look on her face (I would screencap if I was remotely capable of doing anything on a computer) I really liked. Tony protecting Jason again, I think Ziva was noticing the pattern. On another note, if Shane Brennan or Jesse Stern were still involved in the show, I've no doubt that Jason would return. As a homicide victim. The fact that Tony was so protective of the kid, he's saved his life twice now... if anything were to happen to Jason King it would really fuck Tony up. He sacrificed a four year old girl's life for Jason's, if Jason were to die then he'd be left wondering what he'd saved besides his own skin. I think for everyone's safety it would be best if Jason stayed safely tucked away in Baltimore.
I see you enjoyed the episode as much as I did. This was so, so good. And yes, MW hit it waaaay out of the park. Actually, everyone did. Fantastic job all around. And the writers get a million cool points for including the Mythbusters. :D
*sobbing* Fantastic review, as always. OMG, this episode was so good and it makes me so excited for what they have in store! The seeds have been so well placed and the path has been neatly paved with good episodes and solid story telling. My god, I'm literally shaking with anticipation!!!
