My main issue with the "kiss" was the filming angles -- if they'd filmed it from side on it probably would have looked more natural, but all the from-high-looking-down and weird diagonal angles just made it just look weird and uncomfortable, which I don't think is the vibe they were going for.
Oh, I wouldn't be so sure about that. The way they filmed it, it kind of provoked the sensation of "watching yourself do something stupid even when you can't help it", you know. Which works really well with his confusion later and the way he talks about it to Ducky, with all the crash and burn stuff.
my first and consistant thought through the entire episode was that it channeled the classic, older episodes so much. i don't think there was anything i hated about this episode. the banter, humor, and serious flowed so well and blended perfectly, and the character interactions were superb. my initial thoughts before watching this episode were that it would be a) very corny and b) make me want to walk out of the room or cover my eyes, anticipating that they'd completely bomb the wendy/tony and tony/ziva relationships. i wasn't crazy about the wendy story line because i felt like they threw it into the show out of the blue because they wanted to expand ncis history now that we are nine seasons in, and it didn't feel organic to me. but THIS episode and especially the actress made me feel 100% better about it

First of all, let me say I didn't like Wendy as much as everyone else apparently did. The main reason? I never heard her say "I'm sorry." Never once. She makes the observation that Tony is a sad and lonely man and seemingly connects that to their break up but never once does she say sorry for breaking your heart

I didn't like Wendy either, simply because of the fact that she flat out lied to Tony about the case (my initial reason) and then she was completely unapologetic for the way she acted in regard to professional courtesy, the case and their past relationship.
I don't like that it was all hunky-dory with her following them and digging into the details of the case, reporter or not, with no consequence. But despite all that, I've found her to be the most tolerable of all Tony's females (other than Ziva.)

While I really dig the review, I'm glad that I found someone else who was as annoyed with Wendy's seeming nonchalance about lying to Tony as I was. She is an interesting character as a catalyst for T/Z and their relationship, but I just find her emotional arrogance and sense of entitlement deeply grating. I am in agreement with M E Wofford here. Yes, Wendy is smart, pleasant acting, and to quote McGee "cute", BUT she also appears to be someone who is more than willing to lie and play head games with people she allegedly cares (or used to care) about. Definately not liking the possible implications of those traits. That being said, I totally agree with Sammy that Tony seems to be aware of this side of her character. Also that he obviously didn't want Ziva to have much contact at all with Wendy. That was probably wise. Ziva can obfuscate with the best, but she can also become dangerous really fast (as we all know). Good episode, FABU review, less that lovable ex-fiancée.
That's exactly why I said I have issues with her behavior. But I... I don't know how else to put it, I just kinda "clicked" with her, you know. I could actually see why Tony fell for her back then.
