A really good fic. I felt for the Guv here, his raw anger and rage were justified and very well depicted. Well done!

Oh this is just brilliant, tragic, and beautiful. You can feel Gene's hope, rage, and frustration. It just leaps off the page. The worst part is the hope because we know Sam doesn't make it out of the canal and Gene just standing there wishing him to appear is so utterly painful. Just fantastic.
