Dear! this was exactly what I thought when Cass stated he needed to protect the tablet from Dean....
"You will do whatever you believe is just. No matter the cost."

He did know Dean....

and the scene was so touching...so deary...and so in the characters and the plots!
"His eyes dull, head lifting, and Dean can practically feel the change in the angel's body, sensing in the way the warmth between them starts to fade that this is the moment he'd been fearing, this is when Cas flies away."

Happy sigh... this was a wonderful coda to 8.17... two characters met since season 4 and haven't got a real kiss? lol

Thank you! I'm happy you liked it. And yes, it's both amazing and incredibly frustrating there should be so much damn romance between them, but no kissing :p Maybe one day...

Nicely done. There really needs to be more fic dealing with the "after" because you're right, inevitably, they live through things and they really should be able to plan that future.

I was actually okay with the lack of looking to the future for S01-5, because there was very much this sense that there WASN'T going to be a future, that it was all they could do to get from day to day. But since S06 they've been, well, kind of living IN the future, but still acting like they have none. Times are a changing and all that. We'll see how things go...
