Whoops, sorry about the flist weirdness. I've been "backdating" most of my drabbles here so that when I post them on tw100 they won't show up twice in a row on people's flists if they have littledoglaughd and tw100 both on there. But I didn't think that through, because there might be some people not reading tw100. May have to rethink... (And it's weird, I've noticed that the newsletter sometimes picks up tw100 drabbles and sometimes it doesn't. I wonder if it depends on the compiler?)
Poor Jack. It's so easy to find sad things about his life.
I've defriended many of the TW comms, both because the newsletter does a good job of roundup, and because mostly the only writers I want to read are on my flist already. :) Maybe that's elitist; if anybody finds anything good, they're welcome to recommend it! There's just too much junk out there to try to wade through it all. Even the newsletter gets ignored a lot, these days.
I like the contrast between Jack and Gwen here. She has only a few significant deaths in her life - possibly only one, before Torchwood. Jack has so many.
Thank you. I agree - and I think all those contrasts between her life and his are why he wants to protect her "ordinary" life, to keep her innocence in a way, and her relative unfamiliarity with death must figure in.

Lots of sadness for so few words.
