Brilliant! Get punchline...I knew it was going to be blood, but didn't get the Jack connection until the end.

Thank you! The blood had to be fairly obvious, but I liked the idea that Jack might have things lurking from future millennia and distant galaxies.

Actually it took me awhile to get to "blood" though -- I couldn't resist the dragons prompt but it wasn't until I read about the myth of the welsh red dragon fighting a white dragon that it was obvious what I could do with it. They were even made dormant for a few hundred years in the middle of their battle! The whole thing is almost like an allegory of blood-borne infection!

WHEW! This is one of those times when I wish you had more than 100 words to play with. This seems like a fertile idea for something a little longer.
