Notes: Written for tw100 challenge #155 What Could Possibly Go Wrong. This is a followup to my drabble from last week. I thought Jack was tempting fate there at the end.
"It's so peaceful, Jack," Tosh sighed, settling against the side of the boat. "Perfect."
"Oh, you had to say it's perfect," Owen complained. "Now it'll end in tears, just watch."
There was a tug on the line Jack had in the water.
"See? It'll be some monster on the other end."
Jack hauled in the line and pulled up a creature with huge eyes, its tiny hands clinging to the lure.
"-with venomous teeth," Owen finished darkly.
"It's adorable," Gwen said.
The creature peered around, made its choice, and leapt.
Jack grinned as it explored Owen's collar. "It likes you!"
