CHERRYPOP '07
... was a rousing success! Several friends and local LJ'ers came over yesterday to relieve my trees of ripe, tasty cherries.

Here, local LJ celeb glowing_fish (Matthew) displays a handful of ripe red goodness that he picked all by hisself.

Clockwise from bottom: crimebystiletto (Savannah), prettymuchjulia (Julia, barely visible), and ghotighued (Isaac) climb like monkeys.
Later, they flung poo.

I think about 1/4 of the cherries that Julia picked
actually ended up in the blue bowl.

Matthew and jef182 (Big Jeff) debate front-side bus speeds whilst harvesting fruity goodness.

Isaac is about 9 feet tall, which definitely
helped the crew reach the really dense clusters in
the upper half of the tree.
caught me a good 'un
Although likely an ill-advised method, we lopped off a few of the higher branches in order to harvest the fruit. This one alone yielded a couple of pounds -- but you shoulda seen the one that got away.

Although Matthew and Savannah (and her assistant Matchu) departed prior to weigh-in, a total of 50-55 pounds of cherries were picked.
Thanks to everyone who came!
ETA: drjeff brought sistermaryeris and 2/3 of her boys over last night and bumped up the total harvest by another 8 pounds.
