I'm about to go to my moms house and rid one of her trees of its cherries, though hers are pie cherries, and not at all sweet or really even edible outside of a baked good.
Honestly I'm not sure at all. The dark red ones are sweet, and the lighter-colored ones less so (but still good enough to eat right off the tree); that's really all I know.
Judging by the photos alone, the red ones are probably burlats. They're not black cherries like bings or stellas. Plus, Black cherries tend to ripen in late July.
Oh definitely. And cherry-poppin' jokes were just the tip of the iceberg. For example, it was Big Jeff's stated goal to make every statement a double-entendre ... but with Julia saying, while trying to reach cherries, things like "Oooh! If I only had six inches," little effort was needed, at times.

Anyways, they look mighty tasty!

They're actually all the same cherries on both trees -- just different colors of ripeness.
I am told they're pretty tasty. :)

I mean, the entire afternoon probably had as much innuendo as packing one gaylord at Free Geek!
